Summary
it is unfortunately the camshaft end play issue that we see with these engines from time to time. Honda identified that the surface roughness of the camshaft thrust cover on these engines was manufactured out of specification. This poor surface finish creates excessive friction and wear, allowing the camshaft to develop excess fore-and-aft movement (end play). As the camshaft shifts physically out of its correct alignment, it begins to scrape against the thrust cover or cause the reluctor wheel to physically strike and damage the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor. So you have to replace the camshaft, the camshaft sensor, the thrust plate, and timing cover plate. In this picture you can see where the reluctor wheel has been scraping on the cam sensor. This was sent to me not only by one mechanic but multiple. Honda needs to replace this and a recall needs to be made!!!

While researching, the contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V340000 (STEERING) and associated the failure with the recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

Summary
Multiple times (Friday, March 27, Monday March 30, 2026) we have had the 2020 Equinox fail to accelerate at green lights. The gas pedal is pressed to the floor and car is VERY slow to accelerate. It takes multiple depressions of the gas pedal to accelerate more than 10 mph. There are open recalls on certain vin numbers from the NHTSA but mine was not on list yet appears to have many of the same concerns. Our local mechanic believes the details of recall bulletin 20V668000 should apply to our car as well.

Summary
I am reporting a failed remedy for Recall 24-009 (23V-858). Following the fuel pump recall, my 2018 Accord stalled in traffic on March 21. On March 24 upon starting my vehicle all warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard, Millennium Honda admitted the O-ring was misinstalled. This error triggered codes P0172/P0176 less than twenty-four hours later. The dealer is forcing me to pay $425 for damage caused by their botched recall repair.

Summary
My automatic braking system randomly halted me to a stop in the middle of a clear road and almost caused the person behind me to crash into me even though they were back away from me a safe distance. This has happened several times now and it scares me a lot every time it happens. Makes me want to sell the car. I looked it up and saw that many other people online have had an issue with this feature. I also learned there’s no way for me to fully disable the feature which is frustrating. I can only turn it off manually each time I turn my car on. This feature is not safe and has put my life at risk way more times than it has been helpful.

Summary
The CV joints are making a clicking noise now every time I turn and I’m starting to notice that there is some sticking when that happens. It would be available for inspection on request. Yes the dealer acknowledged the failure, but says the parts to fix it our back ordered and so has told me twice to just bring the car back at a later date. There are no warning lamps.
