Condition

• Weak cooling
• Warm air coming out of vents
Cause

The condition may be due to scoring on the inside of the desiccant chamber, as shown in
the picture above (red arrows), causing a slow leak of refrigerant at the receiver/dryer
desiccant cap.
Correction
Technicians will need to inspect the desiccant cap extensively using a refrigerant sniffer
or use a soapy solution to observe for leak prior to part replacement.
Note: The bubble test will only work on vehicles built in this window. (The soap/bubble
method may create false positives on other vehicles).
