Technicians may state that Automated Brake Bleed and/or Brake Hydraulic Test
procedure fails when attempting to perform either procedure.
Technicians may find one or more of the following DTC’s stored in the K160 Brake
System Control Module.
• C05D3 - Driver Applied Pressure Higher Than Expected
• C0809.92 - Brake Master Cylinder Piston Position Sensor
• C080A.92 - Brake Master Cylinder Piston Position Sensor 2
Cause
This condition may be caused by software anomaly in the EBCM.
Correction
These DTCs could set when applying the brake pedal to far and/or releasing the brake
pedal too quickly.
Technicians are instructed to follow the procedure below when trying to complete the
Automated Bleed and/or Brake Hydraulic Test procedure.
Service Procedure
Important: Service agents must comply with all International
, Federal, State, Provincial, and/or Local laws
applicable to the activities it performs under this bulletin, including but not limited to handling, deploying,
preparing, classifying, packaging, marking, labeling, and shipping dangerous goods. In the event of a
conflict between the procedures set forth in this bulletin and the laws that apply to your dealership, you
must follow those applicable laws.
Important: This technical service bulletin (TSB) can only be completed by certified repair facilities who have met all
specific training, tool and equipment requirements pertaining to the vehicle Brand and Model serviced. Repairs must
be performed by a technician who has successfully completed the required training.
1. When performing the Automated Brake Bleed and/or Brake Hydraulic Test procedure, DO NOT apply brake
pedal more than halfway down. Short brake applies are required when performing the procedures.
2. Also, when releasing the brake pedal, slowly release the pedal during the 5 second time window.

Note: If Device Limit Exceeded failure message is received during the Automated Brake Bleed or the Brake
Hydraulic Test, exit procedure, clear DTC, and retry the procedure.
