To ensure continued customer satisfaction and confidence, Nissan is conducting a Dealer
Quality Action on certain model year 2026 Nissan LEAF vehicles identified in Service Comm and
DBS National Service History.
On affected vehicles, Remote Rear Defrost, Front Wiper Deicer, and Heated Door Mirrors may be
unavailable via the smartphone app when the Defrost and Deicer systems are active. This
condition may be caused by an incorrect installation position of the shorting terminal within the
fuse block.
Nissan dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and, if necessary, correct the shorting terminal
installation to restore full remote functionality.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE ATTACHED INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Verify if vehicles are affected by this quality action using Service Comm or DBS National
Service History – Open Campaigns I.D. P5A27
• New vehicles in dealer inventory can also be identified using DBS (Sales-> Vehicle
Inventory, and filter by Open Campaign).
 Refer to NPSB 15-460 for additional information
• Some vehicles may still be in transit. Please continue to check newly arriving
inventory for applicability.
2. Use the attached procedure to remedy any vehicles affected by this quality action prior
to sale.
3.

The service department should submit the applicable claim using the claims coding
provided in the attached procedure for the action performed to close the campaign in
Service Comm and release the vehicle.

IMPORTANT:
Before starting this procedure, verify the ignition is OFF.

1. Open the front passenger door to the
full open position.

2. Open the glove box and move the
contents to the passenger floor.

3. Locate the fuse block J/B cover inside
the glovebox.
•

The fuse block J/B cover will be
located on the back right side of the
glovebox

4. Remove the fuse block J/B cover.
•

Pull down on the fuse block J/B
cover to release it from the
glovebox

5. Locate the fuse block J/B black “ST” shorting terminal in the upper left corner.
•

Refer to Figures 5 and 6

IMPORTANT:
There are (2) black “ST” shorting terminals in the fuse block J/B. This procedure
only applies to the one in the upper left corner of the fuse block J/B.

6. Move the black “ST” shorting terminal found in the upper left corner of the fuse
block J/B UP one position.
•

Use long needle nose pliers to remove and reinstall the “ST” shorting terminal
UP one position

•

Refer to Figures 7 and 8 (The glovebox was removed for these photos, glovebox
removal is not required for the repair)

•

Verify the “ST” shorting terminal is fully seated

7. Install the fuse block J/B cover.

8. Put the contents of the glovebox back
into the glove box and close the glove
box door.

procedure is complete.
