Customer states:

One of the doors cannot be opened intermittently from the outside. It can always be opened from the inside. All
other doors can be opened from the outside.

Once the interior door handle of the door in question has been pulled out, it can be opened again from the outside.

Workshop findings:
The customer statement can be reproduced.
Incorrect operation, as described in the following sentence, can be ruled out in vehicles with a convenience key:

When opening the doors, care must be taken not to touch the sensor on the exterior door handle at the same time,
e.g. with the thumb, otherwise the vehicle will lock again (Q6 e-tron example in figure 1).

In some cases, the event memory entry "B122D29 - Lock unit for central locking - implausible signal -
passive/intermittent” is logged in the diagnostic address of the door control unit for the faulty door.

Software and/or hardware issue in the door control unit or in the door lock.

With DTC B122D29 - Lock unit for central locking - implausible signal.

If this entry is not logged, please continue as described below under "Without event memory entry..."

Please check the part version of the door lock installed on the faulty door (see figure 2) without removing
the component.

If the part version is 08S or higher, please continue as described below under "Without event memory entry...”

If the part version is 07S or lower, please continue with the following measurement:

Please measure the resistance on the installed door lock between pin 2 and pin 4 (see Figure 3) using a multimeter.
To do this, the lock must be in temporary crash redundancy mode. This is initiated by removing the connector from
the lock and firmly pulling the interior door handle twice.

Image 1 shows the illustration of the connector for the right door lock (see Figure 3).

The expected acceptable values are:
Temporary crash redundancy (TCR) (without operating door handles): 1000 ohms

A measured value of 1000 ohms means that the lock is in TCR mode (lock can only be opened mechanically). If the
value is not 1000 ohms, please pull the interior door handle twice again as far as the stop and repeat the
measurement.

Switch for interior door handle = IDH
Switch for exterior door handle = EDH

IDH + TCR (operating interior door handle only): 382 ohms

The following measurements are only for vehicles with curved door handles (e.g. Q6 e-tron and Q5 type
GU):

EDH + TCR (operating exterior door handle only): 212 ohms
IDH + EDH + TCR (operating interior and exterior door handles simultaneously): 158 ohms
Measurement tolerance +/- 1% in each case.

Then close the door, open it again and repeat the measurement. Instead of TCR 1,000 ohms, OL (open load) is now
measured.

If the results deviate from the specified values, please replace the affected door lock.

If the results correspond to the expected values, please check the lock wiring according to Guided Fault Finding. If
this is OK, please replace the door control unit of the faulty door.
Without event memory entry “B122D29 - Lock unit for central locking - implausible signal”.

* The complaint can be reproduced

Please check whether the complaint also occurs when the vehicle is unlocked.

If so, replace the door control unit on the faulty door.

If not, postpone the repair (refer to “The complaint cannot be reproduced”).

In this case, replacing parts or attempting repairs will not fix the problem. Unjustified work/replacement parts will be
charged back. Invoicing under warranty is not permitted.

Please check whether TSB 2079690, 00 Combined software update 03.10.00/C (28.13.01) KD2 is visible for this
vehicle. If this is the case, please perform the software update described in TSB 2079690.
