CUSTOMER COMPLAINT
Noise from front brake caliper(s) when braking or cornering

CAUSE

During braking or cornering, a noise may emanate from the front brake caliper(s). The front brake

pad retainers, due to their rigidity, may shift with the brake pad's movement under braking

conditions. This displacement can lead to deformation of the retainer, resulting in

interference with the brake disc and subsequent contact between the brake pad retainer and

the brake disc.

REMEDY

It is imperative to thoroughly remove brake dust from the brake caliper bracket. This

cleaning ensures proper adhesion of the new brake pad retainers to the brake caliper bracket.

Note: The brake pad retainer shapes differ between the upper (pink dot) and lower (green dot),

refer to the pictures in the parts information section in this document, ensure proper installation.

If the front brake disc(s) is damaged due to the interference of the brake pad retainers,

perform an on-car lathe resurfacing procedure according to the brake disc usage

limit parameters. If the brake disc wear limit is exceeded (27.4mm, 1.079in) replace the brake

disc(s) in conjunction with the brake pad retainers.

If a repeat visit occurs following the application of the prescribed remedy, initiate a

Techline Case. Ensure that TSB-24-35-001 Version 4 is referenced in the Techline case

details. Additionally, document the Techline case number in the repair order on the

concern line.

Note: This remedy corresponds to a specific cause. Make sure to match correct Cause with

Remedy.

Refer to the Service Manual Group 35 as needed along with this TSB to replace the brake pad

retainers.
