The repair quality of covered vehicles is extremely important to Lexus. All dealership technicians
performing this recall are required to successfully complete the most current version of the E-Learning
course “Safety Recall and Service Campaign Essentials.” To ensure that all vehicles have the repair
performed correctly; technicians performing this repair are required to currently have completed all of
the following courses:

It is the dealership’s responsibility to select technicians that have completed the above courses to
perform this repair. Carefully review your resources, the technician skill level, and ability before
assigning technicians to this repair. It is important to consider technician days off and vacation
schedules to ensure there are properly trained technicians available to perform this repair at all times.

WORK PROCEDURE

Ex

A. INSPECTION
1. To inspect vehicle for the tow converter, start to disassemble the vehicle by following
the procedure outlined in step 3 of the Tow convertor installation instructions on TIS
2016-2022 RX350, RX450h Converter Kit (PT725-48160) Rev. C .
2. If the tow convertor is already installed, reassemble the vehicle following the
accessory instructions.

B. INSTALLATION
1. If the tow convertor is not installed in the vehicle, follow the steps in the accessory
installation instructions to install the tow converter, starting with safety preparation
steps 1 and 2, then proceeding with tow converter installation at step 4.

2. Once installation is complete, following the vehicle lighting function test per the table
below.

With hazard lights switch on, apply the
foot brake

Both stop lights on the vehicle are lit, both
turn lights on vehicle are lit, taillights are lit

Turn off the hazard lights switch, turn off
headlamps, apply the foot brake

Stop lights are lit
