Bendix™ FLC-25™ Parameter Update – PACCAR®
This bulletin provides instructions on how to download and run the Bendix ECU (Electronic Control Unit) Updater tool to
resolve incorrect parameter settings on FLC-25 cameras. This document is ONLY applicable for impacted Peterbilt® and
Kenworth® vehicles. Contact PACCAR® for information on affected vehicles.
SOFTWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: To download the software and perform the update,
a Windows® PC (Windows 10 or 11 is recommended) with
the standalone update utility downloaded, a compatible
adapter, and the manufacturer’s Windows drivers for the
adapter are required.
7. Upon first use, select the option that corresponds
to the vehicle communication device configuration.
Once selected, click Save. See Figure 2.
1. Install the Bendix ECU Updater tool distributed by
PACCAR® by clicking the “setup” file and following
the prompts. See Figure 1 for folder contents.

2. Place the “Update Packages” folder in a convenient
location on the laptop, such as the Desktop.

8. Next, click Browse and navigate to the “Update
Packages” folder placed in a location on the
connected laptop in Step 2. See Figure 3.
3. Plug a compatible adapter to the diagnostic port
located under the steering wheel.
4. Connect the vehicle to a battery charger.
5. Key on the vehicle and inspect the vehicle dash
to see if any warning lamps are illuminated before
beginning the update process.
NOTE: Resolve all Bendix device Diagnostic
Trouble Codes (DTCs) before proceeding with the
Bendix ECU Updater tool installation.
6. Open the Bendix ECU Updater utility from the
connected laptop.

9. Select the applicable update pack file that
corresponds with the vehicle and click Open. See
Figure 4.

For Kenworth vehicles, select:
“KW_EC80_005_0.pkg”
•
For Peterbilt vehicles, select:
“PB_EC80_004_0.pkg”

11. In the Settings window, click Next to start the
update. See Figure 6.
NOTE: The Kenworth (KW) software pack is used
as an example in these instructions. Select the
appropriate file that corresponds to the vehicle.

12. The software update will warn the user that changes
will be made to the ECU. To continue with the
software update, click Yes. See Figure 7.

10. Once selected, click Next to load the software
update. See Figure 5.

13. If the incorrect software update pack is selected
or if the software update is not compatible with the
vehicle VIN, the user will receive an error message
(Figure 8). Select the appropriate software update
pack to continue or contact PACCAR for more
information.

15. If the update is successful, the screen will show that
the software has been updated, and the procedure
is complete. See Figure 10. Follow PACCAR
guidelines to document the software update.

14. Once the update has started, the screen will show
the progress. See Figure 9.
NOTE: This process may take a couple of minutes
to complete.
16. To complete the software update, follow these
steps:
a. Key off the vehicle.
b. Wait at least ten (10) seconds.
c.
Key on the vehicle (engine crank not required).
d. Wait at least sixty (60) seconds and confirm that
there are no faults on the vehicle.
e. On the connected laptop, exit the software
update utility.
f.
Key cycle the vehicle again, start the engine,
and leave the vehicle running for at least sixty
(60) seconds to fully complete the update.
17. Disconnect the battery charger.
