AFFECTED VEHICLES
Vehicles which require this campaign to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in AIR,
AWP, Campaign Summary or Warranty Vehicle Inquiry.

SITUATION
BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective November 25, 2025) on certain Model Year 2026 BMW
vehicles that were produced on November 19, 2025.
The threaded connection at the 48 power electronics (EME 48) may not have been properly secured.
Further loosening of the connection could lead to a no-start or breakdown.
“KSG” is the crankshaft-driven starter generator.
CORRECTION
Check, and retighten the 48V cable at the EME48.
PROCEDURE
Disconnect the negative battery terminal and disable the 48V system. Refer to Repair Instruction 61 20 900
Disconnecting and connecting battery ground lead.
Remove the rear underbody protection. Refer to Repair Instruction 51 47 491 Removing
refitting/replacing rear engine undercover .
Loosen screws (1) and remove heat shield
(2).

Remove the screw plug (1) for the power
electronics (MHEV).
Retighten the threaded connection (1) of the
MHEV supply line (3) to 19 Nm.

Replace the screw plug (1) for the power
electronics (MHEV).
Torque to 35 Nm.
Install the heat shield/retaining plate on the tunnel (tighten to 2.5 Nm). Then reinstall the rear underbody
protection as described in Repair Instruction 51 47 491 Removing refitting/replacing rear engine
undercover .
Reconnect the negative battery cable including the 48V vehicle electrical system as described in Repair
Instructions 61 20 900 Disconnecting and connecting battery ground lead.

BMW Group’s resources according to the respective vehicle type. Invoiced these items separately under the
Repair Code listed in this bulletin.
