SITUATION

When turning left, a “creaking” noise may be heard from the EPS when near the steering wheel end stop.

The noise occurs at speeds less than 10 mph.

See attached video V32 01 26.
CAUSE

EPS.
PROCEDURE

Verify the customer’s concern and record a video of the noise. Submit G45 EPS Teile-Clearing case, and

attach the recorded video and a photo of the EPS label for further instructions.

The label can be viewed from underneath the

vehicle, after removing the underbody splash

guard. The label is on the left half (driver’s

side) of the EPS, facing upwards.

Use an inspection mirror to read and

photograph the label. If the entire label cannot

be captured in a single shot, move the mirror

and photograph the remainder of the label.
