SITUATION

The center console armrest unlock button

(arrow) pops out when attempting to open,

and/or when closing the center console

armrest.

Viewed looking rearward.
CAUSE

Unfavorable fitment of the lock button in the center armrest.
CORRECTION

Replace the center armrest lock button with an updated part, version AI 02 or higher (located on the parts

label).
PROCEDURE

1. Verify the customer’s concern (See the Claim Information section first for related information).

2. Replace the center console unlock button. DO NOT REPLACE THE CENTER CONSOLE ASSEMBLY!

If the faulty button has been reinstalled, you will need to remove it from the center console armrest to replace it.

Note: There is no REP instruction or labor operation code available for this repair, though it should

not require any tools. Refer to the procedures below.

3. With the lid slightly open, place your fingers

on the button’s lip (yellow arrow) and gently

pull the button out in the direction of the red

arrow.
4. During reinstallation, ensure the button is

not flipped and that the guides are used for

proper installation (guides shown in

illustration).
5. When installing the new button, you should

hear an audible click once it is fully seated.

6. Once the repair is complete, check the

latch and button operation before closing the

armrest.
