Described Condition:
Vehicles equipped with mBSP braking and ESC that show repeated DTC 1810/02 and a yellow ESC warning lamp
(ESC disabled) have a longitudinal acceleration fault.
This fault occurs when wheel speed sensor data does not match the ESC sensor during straight-line acceleration
or deceleration with no control functions active (ESC, XBR, ABS, DTC).
Replace the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to correct this issue. Only vehicles with ABS ECUs identified in the
table 1 apply to this service bulletin. For the replacement ECU part number, see the table 1.

Removal of the ECU
1. _ Park the vehicle on a level surface, shut down the vehicle, and apply the parking brake. Chock the tires.
2. _ Disconnect the wiring harness from the ECU.
3. _ Remove the mounting hardware to remove the ECU from its location. See ECU Removal instructions in the appropriate Workshop Manual .
Installation of the ECU
1. — Install the ECU with the appropriate mounting hardware and tighten to the manufacturer's specifications. See ECU Installation instructions
in the appropriate Workshop Manual .
2. — Connect the wiring harness to the ECU.
3. Perform the following steps;
a. _ Turn the keyswitch to the ON position and verify the ABS self-test, the ABS warning light should illuminate and then turn OFF.
b. — Program the ECU using WABCO Toolbox software. See Programming Instruction below.
C. _ Perform the ESC End-of-Line calibration procedure as outlined in the WABCO manual. Once complete, the ABS and ATC/ESC warning
indicators should illuminate when the keyswitch is in the ON position, and then turn off. For post-installation calibration, see step 70 in
the Programming Instruction below.
4. — Remove the chocks.
5. — Test the ECU.

## Note: Ensure that the software WABCO TOOLBOX is updated to the latest
version (14.6 at time of publication) or newer.
1. _ Go to the https://wabco.snapon.com/Login.aspx.
2. _ Login to the WABCO page.
3. — Select ‘Aftermarket Programming Configuration File’ See Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.

8. Agree to the terms and place the order, then download and save the file. Open the WABCO Toolbox and ensure it is up to date. Select
‘Aftermarket Programming’ and confirm the pop-up, then choose the downloaded file to begin programming. Review the pass/fail result. If it
passes, turn the keyswitch to the OFF position to allow the vehicle to save all the parameters correctly. See Fig. 7.

9. — Perform a key cycle that completes a vehicle ECU sleep cycle to save the programming updated data.
Note: For issues regarding the WABCO TOOLBOX software downloading and
installation process, call WABCO at 1-855-228-3203 or email
wnacustomercare@wabco-auto.com.
Note: ESC calibration is required after the programming process is complete.
10. — The ABS ECU is now in the ESC calibration mode. Use WABCO TOOLBOX to perform the ESC calibration procedure. Complete the driving
portion of the End of Line (EOL) procedure. After approximately 100 yards of straight-line driving and then a 90 to 180 degree turn is recorded
by the ABS ECU, the stability lamp on the dash will turn off. See Fig. 8.

12. — Perform a key cycle that completes the vehicle sleep cycle to save the calibration data.

This procedure is warrantable only if the described condition exists and the repair is performed within the
applicable base or extended coverage warranty period. If a failure is not found, this procedure is considered
preventive and warranty does not apply.
