Summary
Some customers may experience a check engine light ON with DTC P0126:00 (Thermostat stuck open) and one or more of the following symptoms: Engine takes longer to warm up. • Engine temperature gauge fluctuates. • Low coolant temperature indicator (blue) light stays on longer or turns on while driving. • Poor heater performance, especially at idle. • This concern may be caused if the coolant control valve fail-safe thermostat opens at a temperature lower than the normal temperature due to a deformation of the thermostat diaphragm. To eliminate the concern, the water flow control valve specification has been modified.

NOTE:
• If the subject vehicle comes back again with DTC P0126:00, contact the Technical Hotline.
• For repairs of out of warranty period, refer to SSPD8 (except for Mexico).
Warranty Claim Notes:
• After CCV replacement and PCM reprogramming, successful confirmation of the software must be submitted in
order to pay the Warranty Claim.
• For vehicles updated with IDS (2018–2020 CX-5, Mazda6), download and print the log viewer session that shows
the updated PCM software file and VIN and attach the data by selecting Attachment ID#20 (Printout from
Diagnostic Tool) when submitting a warranty claim. Failure to submit the data will result in claim rejection, denial,
or debit.
• All vehicles updated with MDARS require the upload of ODR (Manual) after the technician has completed all
software updates. MDARS claims will not require data attachment as it is done electronically.
• If ODR is not uploaded successfully, or if software updates are missed, the warranty claim will not be accepted
and the customer may have to return for corrections. The ODR Update (Manual) must be performed even if the
module software is up to date.
