PANTRY LATCH OPERATION

Let’s start with Pantry Operation

Anytime your House disconnect is ON, & your park brake is set, the cabinet should pull freely.

If either your house disconnect (by the door) is OFF or the Park brake is released, the pantry slide should

lock & stay locked until both the conditions above are met again. Please remember the Pantry slide

MUST be FULLY closed before the latch can engage the striker & lock the pantry.

If you stand next to the pantry. when the House disconnect is turned on, with the park brake set, you

can hear the latch cycle & release the pantry slide. It makes a soft whining sound. Now if you turn off

the house disconnect, the switch light should go out & the pantry should latch closed.

If you heard the latch cycle, but the pantry still moved when the house disconnect was turned OFF,

inspect the cabinet depth. If the pantry face is too close to the cabinet face, the latch can’t engage the

Striker when the park brake is locked. A simple way to test this is to remove the felt bumpers on the

cabinet. If the latch engages the pantry striker & locks once the felt bumpers have been removed, the

Pantry slide has been adjusted too close to the cabinet.

If you didn’t hear the latch cycle when the House disconnect is turned on, with the park brake set:

1. Start by taking out the fireplace so you can see where the harness connects to the switch. Then

make sure the switch is wired correctly.

2. Inspect chassis harness mating connector. Make sure there is a matching wire in terminals

Here are the steps to diagnose the Pantry Latch.

Is the light for the pantry release button illuminated?

Yes, Most likely the connector has come loose from the electric latch. The pantry latch can be

accessed & released from a hole in the top of the base cabinet.

NO - is the indicator light on for the CO detector?

No, check the 5A circuit breaker in the House Battery compartment for the CO detector.

Yes, Turn on the Chassis Ignition, is the light for the pantry release button illuminated?

Yes-check power to the Pantry Latch relay in the Front Elec Center.

No-Check the 15 position Amp connector located behind the fireplace
