APPLIES TO:
This service bulletin applies to certain model year 2020-2026 Gladiator
and Metro Star, 2022-2026 FC-94, 2022-2026 KME Panther, and 20232025 KME Predator model emergency response chassis cabs built
between March 2021 and November 2025.
CONDITION:
Certain cab roofs may experience leaks through the roof seams into the
cab interior.
CORRECTION:
Apply additional adhesive to the interior cab roof extrusion and reseal
the upper roof seams.
LABOR ALLOCATION:
10 hours

Thoroughly review entire service bulletin before starting work. If there are questions or concerns

Step By Step Instructions
1. Make sure that the entire area (roof) of the cab is clean. If cleaning is necessary,
use a commercial grade automotive soap and water; wash the roof using a soft
sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and blow dry. Make sure all moisture is
removed from cracks and crevices. The roof of the body should be in a controlled
temperature atmosphere of approximately 70 degrees during the entire process.
2. Remove any caulk or foreign material from the roof that may have been applied
since the cab had been painted.
3. Dig out paint and all sealer from seam where crack is showing with sharp
instrument (utility knife) and blow out and wipe clean
4. Using a clean cloth and following the directions on the label, soak the cloth with
DuPont’s low VOC "Kwik Clean" # 3949S or Dupont’s PREP-SOL SOLVENT,
#3919S and wash the roof area that needs to be repaired, using a second cloth
to wipe the area dry.
5. Remove headliner on inside of cab to access the roof corner extrusions.
6. Follow instructions below for the application of additional adhesive to the interior
extrusions.

C – Using equipment recommended: Ellsworth Adhesive System Model PPA
300B. Take tube of Lord 406 glue and place in glue gun.

Note that you must purge glue before using and at each tube or straw
change. Before using dispense about a golf ball size of glue on a paper
towel and discard. This allows glue to mix properly.
Follow C-1 and fill all the pre-punched holes until glue out inside and top.

6 Using a tube of 3M #08405 "FLEXI-CLEAR" body seam sealer, cut a small slice
off of the tip and apply an approximately 3/32 bead, at a 45 degree angle towards
the seam, area where the roof meets the Extruded sides. This is to be done on
the exterior only: prior to any paint application.
7 Allow body sealer time to dry completely, usually 4 to 6 hours. Temperature and
humidity may modify drying time.
8 Repaint affected area.
