Summary
EPAS harness over check | Continental GT | 26MY (SC26/01). Technical background: Bentley has been informed by one of its suppliers that an electro-mechanical power steering (ePAS) harness has been incorrectly routed on a Left-Hand Drive (LHD) front axle assembly. The front axle assembly in question has been routed as per Right-Hand Drive (RHD) specification. As per the supplier's recommendation, and to avoid any future customer complaints this may cause, it has been decided that the front axle in question must be reworked to re-route the harness to the correct Left- Hand Drive (LHD) specification.

Repair instructions
Technical background
Bentley has been informed by one of its suppliers that an electro-mechanical power steering (ePAS) harness
has been incorrectly routed on a Left-Hand Drive (LHD) front axle assembly. The front axle assembly in
question has been routed as per Right-Hand Drive (RHD) specification.
As per the supplier's recommendation, and to avoid any future customer complaints this may cause, it has
been decided that the front axle in question must be reworked to re-route the harness to the correct LeftHand Drive (LHD) specification.
Remedy
Inspect the ePAS harness routing and, if incorrect, reposition it to the correct LHD orientation following
Bentley specifications, ensuring the harness is secure and free from tension.
Refer to the Work section and complete all steps to completion.
Customer notification
Customers do not need to be informed directly of this campaign.
Ensure all affected vehicles are repaired during Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).

In the event that vehicles have been handed over to the customer please note that customer notification is
not required, in this scenario please ensure the work is conducted at the nearest opportunity

question has been routed as per Right-Hand Drive (RHD) specification.
As per the supplier's recommendation, and to avoid any future customer complaints this may cause, it has

Check
If the vehicle is not already listed as repaired in the ‘Repair history’ section of ElsaPro, check the
‘Identification’ section of this document. In the event that the campaign has not been applied, please carry
out the required work in accordance with these instructions.
Parts
No new parts required unless damage is found during inspection.
Existing harness and bracket tray will be reused.

Work
Inspect and correct ePAS harness routing on affected vehicle.
WARNING
Always follow all general safety warnings and repair instructions outlined in ElsaPro before commencing
any work on the vehicle.
CAUTION
Take all necessary precautions when working in the vicinity of High Voltage components Refer to ‘Safety
precautions when working in the vicinity of high voltage’ in Elsapro
Preparation:
1. Position the vehicle on a ramp. Refer to "Raising and supporting the car”.

2. Remove the LHF (Left Hand Front) wheel and remove the front under sheet. Refer to "Front under sheet To remove and fit”.

3. Remove the LHF (Left Hand Front) wheel arch liners. Refer to ‘’ Front wheelarch liners - To remove and
fit’’.

4. Remove the subframe support.

– Remove the fixings -1- (30 Nm) and -2- (30 Nm).
– Remove the subframe rear support.
Inspection:
Confirm the ePAS harness orientation is incorrect for the vehicle hand of drive (see Fig 3.).
5. Locate ePAS harness and confirm orientation.

6. Correct routing should follow LHD specification, see OK and NOK visuals below for reference.

Correction (if NOK):
7. Remove cable tie bracket(s) securing the harness.
8. Carefully reposition harness to correct orientation:
NOTICE
Avoid pulling or twisting the harness excessively; this may damage insulation or connectors.
9. Ensure harness follows the factory routing path and is clipped into all designated retainers.
Avoid sharp bends or tension points.
10. Refit cable tie bracket and confirm harness is free from obstruction.
NOTICE
Ensure harness is not trapped or under tension after rework.

11. Reinstall the subframe support.
Rebuild the vehicle back to specification. Installation is the reverse of removal procedure, noting the
following:
– Clean mating surfaces between all supports and subframe.
– Ensure the anti-roll bar wiring and steering rack harness is positioned correctly between the subframe -1and the subframe rear support -2- to avoid any trapping/pinching etc. See figure 4.
11. Reinstall undertray/liner and LHF wheel.
Reinstall the front under sheet and the LHF (Left Hand Front) wheel. Refer to "Front under sheet - To
remove and fit”.

Final Checks:
12. Perform visual inspection for clearance and security.
Identification
Once the applicable action has been conducted, the operative must submit a warranty claim as this will show
the service campaign action as complete within Elsa Pro “Repair history”.
Apply a yellow paint completion mark on the underside of the left-hand anti roll bar mounting bracket as
shown below.
