Workshop Findings
The following DTC is stored in the Transmission Electronics (Diagnostic Address 0002):
•
(U042300: Invalid Data Received From Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module– active/static) with
symptom 50285.
Technical background
This is a temporary communication issue between the Instrument Panel Cluster and the Gearbox Control
Module following a KL30 (battery) reset. It does not indicate a hardware fault and can be resolved by
following the steps outlined in the measure section.

Measure
To resolve the issue, follow these steps precisely:
1. Place the vehicle into Drive mode.
2. Start the engine and select Sport mode using the Charisma switch.
3. Drive the vehicle forward approximately 1 metre, then return to stationary and select Reverse.
4. Switch off the vehicle and allow a 15-minute CAN sleep (ensure ignition is off and vehicle is locked).
5. After CAN sleep, erase the fault memory using the diagnostic tool.
6. Confirm that the DTC is no longer present and the gearbox warning is cleared.
