SERVICE:
Do not replace the complete EFAD unit (part number 36003602) before following the instructions in
this journal.
If you receive a vehicle where the fault indicates or requires an electric motor replacement, this is now
possible and should be performed to preserve complete EFAD units.
We will initially offer the electric motor as a separate spare part for this specific part number starting
immediately.
For electrical motor replacement instructions, go to VIDA > Information > Repair > Removal,
replacement and installation > Power Transmission > 465 Final drive (front and rear) > Transmission/
el. motor EFAD
One fault that has been observed is a bearing failure in the electrical motor, which causes noise from
the unit. Please listen to the attached file TJ_37582_1.mov. This noise may vary in intensity compared to
the reference demo.
Note: To perform the repair, special tools are required. A limited number of these tools have been
sent to your markets. You need to submit a “vehicle Report Polestar” with the Sub-Concern area
“Support Needed Polestar” to borrow the special tools for the repair.
