Issue Summary
Symptom:
Fault Code FC4747
Fault Code FC5368
Fault Code FC5369
Fault Code FC6131
Root Cause:
Adequate time was not allowed for the Engine Control Module (ECM) to create necessary air/fuel ratio compensations.
Performing the Fuel System Table Reset in Advanced ECM Data will reset this timer – do not perform the Fuel System Table Reset unless a defective part has
been replaced.
The fault code has been logged due to one of the following conditions:
Recent ECM calibration
Fuel System Table Reset in Advanced ECM Data has been performed
Recent refueling event
Published troubleshooting will not resolve this issue until certain conditions are met.
Resolution
If Fault Code 4747, Fault Code 5368, Fault Code 5369 or Fault Code 6131 has been logged, verify the following has been performed prior to troubleshooting:
1. Operate engine until coolant temperature exceeds 70 °C [ 158 °F ].
2. Perform the Diagnostic Road Test or Chassis Dynamometer, utilize a route or routine that incorporates both stop and go city type driving and steady state highway
type driving for a 1 hour total drive time.
If any of the fault codes from the list are logged, perform a key cycle and continue driving
If any of the fault codes from the list logged again repeat the key cycle up to 5 times total
If the fault code has not logged during the last 15 minutes of operating time of the 1 hour total drive time, no additional troubleshooting is required.
If any of the fault codes from the list logged during the last 15 minutes of operating time of the 1 hour total drive time, then continue with published troubleshooting.
Reason for Change
Allow the engine time to compensate and correct for part, fuel, and ambient variations.
