The software for the Starter Generator, C29 (address word OOCC) needs to be updated.

New software implemented in production week 07/2025.

Service
This TSB closes PSS 2076029: 27 PSS Valeo 48V Starter Generator (BSG) DTCs POA1A00 + P19F 800.

Please check to see which of the three scenarios apply to the vehicle:

Scenario 1)
* Starter Generator, C29 (address word 00CC) contains NO P0OE0*00 / P2DC* DTC’s

Check whether any of the listed DTCs are logged in the Starter Generator, C29 (address word 00CC) in your
specific case. If they are this TSB applies. The software for the Starter Generator, C29 (address word OOCC) must
be updated (software part number 4M0.903.028). There is no reason to replace parts as this could lead to repeat
concerns.

2. Update the Starter Generator, C29 (address word 00CC) using the SVM action code as listed in the table
below, if necessary:

The software for the starter-alternator control unit must be updated on this vehicle. Please observe the
information and instructions under “Additional Information” regarding this.

Scenario 2)
* Starter Generator, C29 (address word 00CC) contains POEO*00 / P2DC* DTCs

There is a hardware issue and the Starter Generator, C29 (address word 00CC) may be replaced.

Do not perform a software update as this could lead to repeat complaints.

Scenario 3)

* Scenario 2 does not apply and diagnostic address 00CC or functional check C29 contain static
POA1E00 entries

In this scenario, erase the DTC memory and wait for the system to complete a bus sleep cycle. Reassess the DTC
entries. If the POA1E00 DTC entry remains static, there is a hardware issue and the belt-driven starter-alternator
may be replaced.

Do not perform a software update as this could lead to repeat complaints.

Warranty

Unjustified work/replacement parts will be charged back. Invoicing under warranty is not permitted.

Manual. Claims are subject to review or audit by Audi Warranty.

Additional Information

The software must be updated on a control unit in this vehicle, or the software must be updated on several control
units in this vehicle to ensure they function correctly in conjunction with the other control units in the vehicle. Please
inform the customer about the software update in question and ask whether they or other third parties have modified
the software (e.g. tuning or retrofitting involving modifications to the vehicle’s software). Please refer the customer to
the Warranty and Maintenance booklet to learn more about how chip tuning can impact warranty coverage. Please
inform the customer that this software update may neutralize previous modifications to the vehicle’s software
performed either by the customer or other third parties.

If the customer declines the software update, please inform them that this could lead to issues or restrictions with
the use of the vehicle or individual components.

Make a note to this effect on the order before it is signed by the customer. Include this information in the customer
file.
