Service

Important information before updating the software

¢ Diagnostic entries logged in diagnostic address 0075 will be repaired by a software update described in this TSB. The Guided Fault Finding test
plans should not be carried out and cannot be invoiced.

« Alengthy period of inactive time is to be expected during the software update. You can work on a different vehicle during this time. This is considered
in the warranty accounting instructions.

when carrying out this TSB, time stamps are not required for billing under warranty.
« Anewly developed test program is used to input the SVM code. Please ensure that the tester being used has the latest ODIS update. The new test
program for software updates is included in ODIS software.

¢ Note: The vehicle uses acoustic signals and flashing lights to indicate when user input is required during and at the end of the test program.

¢« Asecond USB-C stick is required for the software update for the Android control unit (see parts information for part number). This update must only
be performed if the software version in diagnostic address 078E is below 0621.

¢« Important: Please prepare the required USB-C sticks (see parts information) before starting the repair. The update media can be used for multiple
vehicles.

¢ This update package also includes new software for the MIB3 infotainment system. Useful information for MIB3 software updates can be found in
TSB 2060523, 91 MIB3: Software Update Instructions.

Repair procedure

1. Manual software update for AED control unit (078E) via red menu

Please skip step 1 if the Android control unit (078E) already has software version 0621.

The AED control unit can only be updated via the red menu in the MMI.

Insert the USB update medium in the USB connection (see parts information for part number).
Select the red menu by pressing the following buttons:

Select “Update” and the source in which you have inserted the update medium (USB connection). Use the volume control to do this. All control units to be
updated (AED) are shown; scroll all the way down and start the update.

Once the manual update has been successfully completed, leave the red menu entirely before starting a diagnostic session.
Please make absolutely sure to leave the USB stick inserted. The correct time to remove the USB stick is described further down.
¢ The MMI will now restart.

« Wait until the MMI has fully initialized. The home screen must be complete and display all apps.

¢ Please restart the system by pressing and holding the volume control for 10 seconds.

¢« Open the notification center and switch to the “Audi connect notifications” tab.

« — Itmay take several minutes for further information to appear. Please wait.

* Please note: This procedure will only work if the USB stick is still inserted.

* Please wait (approx. 5 min.) until the download is complete.

Now remove the USB stick.

« Restart the system by pressing and holding the volume control.

* Check whether the update was successful by calling up the notification center / Audi connect notifications.

2. SVM code for AED control unit, software update for emergency call module (0075), gateway (0019) and information electronics (005F)

Use the function “SVM - Authorized Multiple Code Entry’ in “Flash” mode.

IMPORTANT: For the new software update program, the following SVM code must be entered exactly, including commas and without spaces
(recommendation: scan QR code with hand-held scanner or copy and paste the SVM code chain).

078EA001,DUCDTCPRO075MLB,FLIGHTON0075MLB,ZGDOIP,CL3BPA001US,19A027,19B027,TGU1MDMVB,CL3BPA002US,FLIGHTOFF0075MLB

The test program initially prompts you to use a USB medium (see parts information for part number).
The USB-C stick can be removed after completing the program.

Note: If the procedure has been interrupted, please repeat step 2. The test program will then automatically perform the missing part of the update.

3. Bus sleep mode

Put the vehicle in bus sleep mode after performing the software update.

Then switch the ignition back on and start the MMI.
4. Check emergency call LED

Check whether the emergency call LED in the roof module lights up in green again.
If the LED does not turn green, please refer to TSB 2079652 Emergency call LED in roof module not lit up in green.

5. End diagnostic session and send off diagnostic log online.
