Customer states:

The complaint may vary depending on the current driving profile/load requirement profile.

* Heating output too low / no heating output.

* Cooling output too low / no cooling output.

* — Drive power too low.

* Charging capacity too low.

Workshop findings:

The following event memory entries are logged in J1024 Thermal management (address word 00C5):
* DTC P2B3000 - Symptom 59328: Fan 1 stuck on.

and/or

* DTC P2B3200 - Symptom 59342: Fan 2 stuck on.
Technical Background
This may be caused by foreign objects or dirt in the fan module.

Frequent journeys on unpaved roads, roads with a gravel surface or gritted roads increase the likelihood of the
complaint occurring.

Production Solution

Vehicle production date from March 2023 onwards.

Service

If the complaint is about noise, please first work through TSB 2073030: 19 Grinding or knocking noises from electric
cooling fans when active then reassess the complaint.

Several components have been modified to prevent dirt and stones from entering the fan motor. The new
components have additional, larger openings on the underside through which foreign objects can escape and a
protective cap on the fan’s electric motor to prevent foreign objects/dirt from getting in.

The following versions were modified to rectify the complaint.

If you are replacing a fan as part of this TSB, please check whether there are any other old component versions in
the vehicle on the side which the complaint originates from (left or right side) and replace them with new
component versions.

For example, the fan (right-side) 9J1121205C is the subject of the complaint. Check the version of the components
on the right side of the vehicle according to the above table and replace these components with the new versions if
necessary.

If the new version is no longer available, please use the later one.
