Customer states:

When attempting to close one of the front or rear door windows using a window regulator switch, the window opens
(reverses) again.

Workshop findings:

The customer statement can be reproduced. The event memory entry “B148754: Motor for window regulator - no
basic setting — passive/intermittent” is logged in one of the door control units (diagnostic address 0042, 0052,
etc.).

Applies to vehicles with high-voltage components:

To prevent the high-voltage battery from charging during the software update, the high-voltage charging cable on
vehicles with high-voltage components must be unplugged BEFORE the SVM code is entered.

Please note that charging the high-voltage battery during a software update can cause damage to the high-voltage
components.

The following procedure applies to all vehicles mentioned in the TSB and must be checked before
performing the update. Check whether one of the following target data container (TDC) part numbers is
present in the corresponding door control units. If this is not the case, the SVM code cannot be run.

Please update the door control units using the SVM code. Fully open and close all electric windows via the window
regulator switches immediately BEFORE using the SVM code. This ensures that all the door control units are
“awake” for the update.

To enter the SVM code, use “Flash” mode on the ODIS tester. The SVM code is 42A029. All door control units are
updated at the same time. Follow the instructions on the ODIS tester.

Additional Information

The software must be updated on a control unit in this vehicle, or the software must be updated on several control
units in this vehicle to ensure they function correctly in conjunction with the other control units in the vehicle. Please
inform the customer about the software update in question and ask whether they or other third parties have modified
the software (e.g. tuning or retrofitting involving modifications to the vehicle’s software). Please inform the customer
that this software update may neutralize previous modifications to the vehicle’s software performed either by the
customer or other third parties.

If the customer declines the software update, please inform them that this could lead to issues or restrictions with
the use of the vehicle or individual components.

Make a note to this effect on the order before it is signed by the customer. Include this information in the customer
file.
