* The drive system fault warning lamp lights up in the dash panel insert.

¢ There is no direct customer complaint.

* The event memory entry specified in the workshop findings is found in gearbox electronics control unit J217 in
connection with a different complaint.

Workshop findings:

The following DTC and symptom code is logged in the transmission electronics control unit - J217- (diagnostic
address 0002):

* P066700: “PCM/ECM/TCM Internal Temperature Sensor "A" Range/Performance” with symptom 20752.

* The customer only complained about a warning lamp lighting up.

Service

A combined software update for various control units must be performed on this vehicle.

Try to reproduce the customer complaint (based on the description/cause of the issue), so that it can be
clearly assigned to this TSB. The following repair must only be carried out if all the criteria (model/type,
chassis number, engine/motor, gearbox code, PR number(s), part number, software version, code, etc.)
apply exactly. Otherwise, this solution will not eliminate the problem and repeat repairs may be necessary.
In such a case, the warranty claim may be rejected, and the cost of the parts may be charged back.

Please perform the software update described in TSB 2079690, 00 Combined software update 03.10.00/c
(28.13.01) KD2.

All warranty claims submitted for payment must be in accordance with the Audi Warranty Policies and Procedures
Manual. Claims are subject to review or audit by Audi Warranty.

When performing the combined software update, time stamps are not required for billing under warranty. You are
therefore permitted to work on other vehicles at the same time. The combined software update can also be
performed by non-productive personnel.

Additional Information

The software must be updated on a control unit in this vehicle, or the software must be updated on several control
units in this vehicle to ensure they function correctly in conjunction with the other control units in the vehicle. Please
inform the customer about the software update in question and ask whether they or other third parties have modified
the software, (e.g. tuning or retrofitting modifications to the vehicle’s software). Please inform the customer that this
software update may neutralize previous modification to the software of the vehicle performed either by the
customer or other third parties.

If the customer declines the software update, please inform them that this could lead to issues or restrictions with
the use of the vehicle or individual components.
Make a note to this effect on the order before it is signed by the customer. Include this information in the customer
file.

Manual for fasteners, bolts, nuts, and screws that require replacement during the repair.
