CAUTION
This technical bulletin is applicable only to support replacement using the available service part when
replacement is justified according to a proper technical diagnosis, which is outside the scope of this
technical bulletin.
Technical Background
Replacement part 1T3.919.605.P/Q (SW 4047) is used after the 5.4.3KD update.
NOTICE
The parts catalog (ETKA) uses the most recent documented build status of the vehicle to identify a
suitable replacement part. Part numbers given in the parts catalog may change after a compound software
update is completed and documented online, and a previously compatible replacement part that contains
earlier software may no longer be compatible with the vehicle.
– Look up the part number according to the VIN in the parts catalog only after the 5.4.3KD update is
completed.

Carry out the following steps in order:

The compound software update ID.S 5.4.3KD must be completed before proceeding!

Replace the Front Information Display Control Head -J685- according to the repair manual.
‒
For the replaced service part, select and perform the “replace control module” (initiation /
commissioning) test plan in Guided Fault Finding (GFF).
‒
For the replaced service part, perform any additional GFF tests that remain in the test plan list.
‒
End of procedure.
