SYMPTOM
The seat belt reminder incorrectly indicates that the second-row right passenger seat belt is unfastened even after the
passenger has fastened it.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
A damaged or broken wire inside the seat belt buckle assembly may cause the seat belt reminder to illuminate red or gray,
after the seat belt has been fastened.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Inspect the second-row right passenger seat belt buckle, replace the seat belt buckle assembly if necessary.
NOTE: Pilot will require the seat recline inner and outer trim covers to be replaced.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Confirm on the driver-information interface that the seat belt reminder illuminates red or grey when the second-row
right passenger’s seat belt is fastened:
1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
2. Fasten the second-row right passenger seat belt.
3. Does the seat belt reminder illuminate RED or GRAY?

YES - Proceed to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
•
NO - Wiggle and twist the fastened seat belt buckle assembly while checking the seat belt reminder.

If the seat belt reminder stays GREEN, no repair is needed. Continue with normal troubleshooting.
If the seat belt reminder flickers intermittently, proceed to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
Replacement of the seat recline inner and outer trim covers is required. If the covers are not replaced, the repair is
incomplete and may damage the new seat belt buckle wiring, leading to another failure of the seat belt reminder system.
1. Replace the second-row right passenger seat belt buckle assembly, and the seat recline inner and outer trim covers.

2. Reinstall all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
