Concerns:

Air-spring strut, front axle

Cause:

There is a possibility that the screw connection of the support mount housing on the air suspension strut
on the affected vehicles was not carried out according to specifications.
If this is the case, it cannot be ruled out that a stud of the support mount housing could loosen over the
vehicle’s service life and in a sporty-dynamic driving style. The customer can notice this through a rattling
noise on the front axle.

Action:

Replace air-spring strut on the front axle.

Replacing air-spring strut on the front axle
Work Procedure:

Information
Depending on the campaign scope, the air suspension strut on the front axle of the affected vehicles
must be replaced either on one side or on both sides. See the campaign scope assigned to the
respective vehicle.
On vehicles for which only the replacement of an air suspension strut is provided, both air-spring struts
must also be replaced at a mileage/km of > 30,000 km or at a vehicle age of more than 3 years.
For this purpose, the VIN and mileage/km must be documented with a photo and the photo documentation attached to the job. In this case, a PRMS Warranty / Campaigns Ticket must be created for the
change in scope.
