The Y-measuring cables described can generally be used on all Porsche vehicles even if this Technical Information is not available for every specific vehicle in PCSS.

Information:
Y-measuring cables are now available for vehicle diagnosis via Porsche AG (PAG).

The use of Y-measuring cables is recommended to facilitate meaningful and reliable measurements.

The measurement cables allow measurements in the active circuit, i.e. in the current-loaded state, which

depicts realistic operating conditions.

This allows sensor signals and actuator activation to be detected in real-time operation using an oscilloscope

or measuring device. By using these test leads, we are getting more accurate results because of the low

contact resistance. Using conventional multimeter leads might cause bad readings due to high contact resistances. This significantly improves the quality and accuracy of the measurements.

The Y-measuring cables are connected between the wiring harness-side plug and the component and have

branches for connecting measuring devices.

In some cases, the measuring cables are designed with individual lines, which makes it much easier to

connect a current-measuring amp clamp and thus facilitates a combined measurement of voltage and

current measurement with the oscilloscope.
