Subject: DTC P0106 and P0196 ECU Throttle Body Update Flashing
Dear Royal Enfield Dealers:
The purpose of this communication is to inform dealers of a new calibration for
issues pertaining to DTC P0106 and P0196 on ALL 350 models. This flash is
implemented to deal with recurring P0106 and P0196 codes. If you experience this
issue, please follow the steps outlined in this communication. This is only to be
performed if there are no runnability concerns in the unit.
This communication breaks down the process step by step.

Purpose: The SOP explained below is regarding the throttle body-ECU software update to address the
complaint of DTC P0106 and P0196 in Meteor 350/ All new classic 350/ Hunter 350/ Bullet 350 models.
Note: This SOP is applicable only when the motorcycle is reported with above DTC.
Applicable countries: All countries except (Brazil and South Korea)
Instructions before flashing:
1. If already DOL software (ROYAL ENFIELD DOL V0_17_BETA26) is installed in your computer, proceed
with Step 2. If not, first install the software as per the procedure shown in the SOP below
2. If your tool is not activated for flashing, kindly share your DOL Tool 10digit number with your
distributors which is at back side of the DOL tool, else connect to the vehicle and go to F2 and again
F2 the tool sl no will be displayed as 9*********, share this number to get the tool activated for
online flashing.
3. During this process do not disturb the Motorcycles/Connections/Ensure proper internet
connectivity.
4. Ensure you have admin rights and the firewall or antivirus software is disabled before starting the
flashing.
5. If this following message pops up, kindly stop flashing and connect to the mobile internet or contact
the network administrator to provide the permission to connect to the external network
server. Else ECU may get corrupted. Click OK

Step 2: Software update to ECU:
After installation connect the DOL tool to the motorcycle and the USB to the laptop/desktop,
the ignition key and kill switch should be on condition, click on the ROYAL ENFIELD DOL
V0_17_BETA26 icon it will automatically navigate and show the models.
Else manually select the following model and select <EMS> as below

Test drives the Motorcycle and hand it over to the customer.
Note: In table shown above, for Sl no.1 there is a change in the Hex file along with CVN number.
Hence ensure idling adaption is done for those motorcycles.
