FALSE ACTIVATION OF AEB OR FCW IF YOU CONFIRM The customer states they have experienced false activation and/or unexpected braking of the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) or Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system, AND There are no related DTCs stored. ACTION Follow the SERVICE PROCEDURE in this bulletin to: 1. Confirm the current ICC/ADAS part number. 2. Reprogram the ICC/ADAS, if applicable. 3. Configure the ICC/ADAS. 4. Erase the DTCs. The customer states they have experienced false activation and/or unexpected braking of
the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) or Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system,

There are no related DTCs stored.

ACTION
Follow the SERVICE PROCEDURE in this bulletin to:
1. Confirm the current ICC/ADAS part number.
2. Reprogram the ICC/ADAS, if applicable.
3. Configure the ICC/ADAS.
4. Erase the DTCs.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.

Using CONSULT, confirm the current ICC/ADAS ECU part number and write it on the
repair order.

If it matches one of the part numbers in Table A, continue to step 2 below.

If it does not match one of the part numbers in Table A, this bulletin does not apply.
Go back to ASIST for further diagnostic and repair information.

If you are not familiar with the CONSULT Reprogramming and Configuration procedures,
refer to ASIST to access the CONSULT Operation Manual and the Electronic Service
Manual (ESM) for steps to reprogram and configure an ECU. Follow all precautions in both
manuals to prevent possible personal injury or death and/or damage to the ECU.

Reprogram the ICC/ADAS ECU to the new ADAS software.

Reprogramming

IMPORTANT: When using CONSULT-III plus, select Re/programming,
Configuration to reprogram the ECU. Perform "ADDITIONAL SERVICE" per the ESM
when required.

After erasing all DTCs, print a copy of the CONSULT screen showing the before and
after part numbers of the control unit and attach it to the repair order.

Configuration > Manual Writing (Operation C)

Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) to determine the OLD CONFIG PART
NUMBER (Type ID) for your VIN. Write the OLD CONFIG PART NUMBER (Type
ID) on the repair order.

Using both the OLD CONFIG PART NUMBER (Type ID) and the Part Number
After Repro/programming, reference Table B to determine and select the NEW
CONFIG PART NUMBER (Type ID).
