5000 miles or less

Cause

Potential binding or sticking of the Intake/Exhaust camshaft sliding lobe pack

Correction
You may encounter one of the above listed vehicles that arrive in service with DTC P30C3, P30C7, P30CB or
P30BF set as current or in history. If so, complete the following steps.
1. Clear DTC and allow full sleep cycle of vehicle. Open and close the driver's door. Wait for OnStar light to turn off
and listen for relays in passenger footwell to click to indicate vehicle is asleep.
2. Start Vehicle and idle for 30 seconds and confirm no MIL
3. Drive vehicle, if MIL sets immediately upon moving the vehicle proceed to step 3a. If MIL does not set immediately
proceed to step 4
a. Clear DTC and allow full sleep cycle of vehicle. Upon restarting the vehicle, perform a park rev to 4000 rpm for
15 seconds.
4. Drive at 23-25 mph for 10 minutes If no MIL is present, the issue is resolved.
a. If MIL resets at any time, return to step 1. Repeat process up to 4x.” If codes return once completed proceed with
the following.
Replace the profile actuator solenoids as follows:
P30BF, intake cylinders 1&2
P30C3, intake cylinders 3&4
P30C7, exhaust cylinder 2

If any of the above codes return then replace the Intake Camshaft and Roller followers (DTC P30BF, P30C3) or
Exhaust Camshaft and Roller Followers (DTC P30C7, P30CB)
Clear remaining DTC's using GDS and evaluate the repairs.
If any of these codes return after the above repairs complete the published SI diagnostics for the related DTC's that
have returned.
This PI may become a bulletin once additional information has been collected.
