SITUATION

While driving on rough surfaces, a “creaking” noise can be heard from the B-pillar trim panels.
CAUSE

The lower B-pillar panel clips are loosely fitted.
CORRECTION

Apply felt tape to the B-pillar trim to better secure the clip.
PROCEDURE

After verifying and localizing the noise to lower B-pillar,

1. Remove the pertinent B-pillar per REP 51 43 150 “Removing and installing/replacing the trim panel for the left and right Bpillar.”
2. Once the B-pillar trim is removed, the lower

white panel clips (yellow arrows) need to be

removed.

3. Felt tape needs to be applied where the

clips sit (circled in red) before reinstalling the

white clips.

4. The installed clips with felt tape (yellow

arrows) provide a tighter fit and prevents

excessive movement.

5. Reinstall trim panel and verify the noise is

no longer present.
