Summary

70-80k mileage the oil filter housing gushed coolant fluid. Replacement at dealership quoted at $4,000. Dealership indicated they replace part with current part and do not upgrade to an all aluminum to prevent future problems. Employee also stated they are seeing more of these issues of late. The housing has plastic components that fail easily. There was a 2020 bulletin warning of similar failures for this type of engine and vehicle but BMW has not issued a recall. If this draining of coolant is not detected early enough, the engine could overheat and fail, creating a traffic hazard and safety concern to passengers. Local certified mechanics quoted $2,500 for replacement using an aluminum part. These two quotes were from different mechanics and were based on phone conversation, so additional charges may have applied once they began work.they both opined if part is not replaced with aluminum, the part will fail again prematurely. There is a recently filed class action lawsuit in New Jersey.

Summary

I bought my 2026 Honda Civic a month ago and hadn't driven it very far. At a stoplight, the car stalled and various warning lights came on--for the brake, the CPU, and then almost all the warning lights came on. I was stranded at a light and afraid for my life and the safety of th other motorists. After numerous attempts, I got the car started again, but it stalled twice again on the way to the dealership. The problem was inspected by the Honda Dealership, who claim that the ordeal was because of a "puncture" in the radiator which was caused by a road event, and which somehow overwhelmed the CPU. I have tried to take this up with the dealer and Honda corporate, but see no other recourse for letting them know the danger I was put in. As for the "road event," neither myself or anyone else in the car remembers encountering or hearing or experiencing anything resembling an event that could have ruptured the radiator.

Summary

My truck loses power at a stop, starting to accelerate is stalls in the middle of the road. It seems to be stuck in gear or not going in gear. It will finally start going and the hesitation starts a the rpm gage goes up to about 3000 rpm’s and then goes back down to 1500. This is extremely dangerous to lose power in the middle of the road. This needs to be addressed.

The check engine and traction control light came on in my car. This was accompanied by a clanking sound, shaking. The panel said “ SERVICE ESC” “ service traction control” and “ forward collision system unavailable” The Chevrolet light logo on the back of my car will also not turn off occasionally whenever the car is turned off.

Summary

Driving on the freeway vehicle suddenly enters limp mode with stop safely vehicle will shut off soon displayed. Transmission was replaced once already for this issue, a year later and I am experiencing the same thing. Very dangerous to lose all power while going 80mph in the third lane of a three row freeway and have to attempt to get all the way across lanes of traffic to safely stop while losing all power. Family vehicle loaded with kids. Has entered turtle mode 3x on the freeway after transmission was already replaced once. If I drive under 65mph it goes fine, but who wants to drive behind semis all the time on the freeway? Untrustworthy vehicle.
