Summary

I am writing to formally file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regarding an unresolved safety recall on my 2019 Ford EcoSport. On February 18, 2026, at approximately 9:01 A.M., I contacted my local dealership, El Cajon Ford, to schedule the recall repair. I was informed that the required recall parts are on indefinite backorder and that there is no estimated date for availability. This leaves my vehicle unrepaired for a known safety defect with no clear timeline for remedy. Additionally, during that same conversation, I informed the dealership that my check engine light is currently illuminated, which raises further concerns given the open safety recall. I was told that if I bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing and the issue is determined not to be related to the recall, I would be responsible for a $209 diagnostic fee. I am concerned that this creates a financial barrier to determining whether the warning light may, in fact, be related to the known safety defect. I regularly transport my [XXX] child in this vehicle. Continuing to operate a vehicle subject to an open safety recall — particularly one involving a potentially serious safety-related defect — places my family at unnecessary risk. The indefinite delay in parts availability undermines the purpose of a federally mandated safety recall. Under federal law, manufacturers are required to provide a free and timely remedy for safety-related defects. An open-ended delay with no estimated repair date does not appear to meet that standard and leaves consumers without meaningful protection. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this matter, investigate the delay in recall remedy availability, and take appropriate action to ensure that affected consumers are not required to continue operating potentially unsafe vehicles without a timely repair or interim solution. Thank you for your attention to this serious safety concern. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Summary

The multifunction ADAS camera module failed due to "Internal Error" at only 9 years old. This means that critical safety systems such as automatic emergency braking/lane keep assist malfunctioned and could not assist with avoiding collisions. I took the car to the dealer and they confirmed the issue, and charged me $2000 to fix this critical safety system. I noticed that the new camera assembly has an updated part number, indicating that Honda might have been aware of this failure issue. I have also seen some forum posts online of others having this failure with their 2016-2017 Accords with Honda Sensing. Therefore I believe this should warrant a recall. When the failure first occurred upon vehicle startup a few days before I had it repaired, all these systems were disabled and there were multiple warning lamps on the gauge cluster and screen. Prior to this sudden failure, everything had been working fine as intended up until the very day it failed.

Summary

I attempted to use my sunroof today 2/18/26 and I heard a popping sound and it sounded like something broke. I rolled the sunroof back closed and now the back of the sunroof (moonroof) is now propped open and won't close. I have tried the manual overide for 10 to 15 seconds and it just makes a clicking sound. I am pretty upset as I have only used my sunroof maybe 10 times in the 4 years I have had the car. After research there is a TSB 319 that clearly documents it is a known problem on 2019 to 2022 Telluride models yet, no recall. While it is not a major safety issue, it is now a concern that when it rains, it will get into my my vehicle causing further damage. This should be a covered repair on Kia's behalf especially when it seems it is happening most often after factory warranty or 60,000 miles for most who are reporting it. Sounds like a scam to get another 5,000 dollars out of their customers. Won't be buying a Kia again.

Manufacturer Name: General Motors, LLC

Vehicle Make: GMC

Vehicle Model: SIERRA 1500

Model Year: 2021

Summary

The failed component is the engine coolant control valve on a 3.0L Duramax truck. The failure has been documented and confirmed by both an independent mechanic and an authorized dealership. The malfunction creates a significant safety hazard. Without warning, the truck will suddenly enter a reduced engine power mode while traveling at normal highway speeds. When this occurs, the vehicle will not allow acceleration beyond approximately 50 miles per hour. This is especially dangerous when operating on roadways with speed limits of 70+ mph, as the sudden and unexpected loss of power places myself and surrounding motorists at risk. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by Steele GMC in Round Rock, Texas. In addition, the vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic, both of whom verified the coolant control valve failure. Prior to the initial occurrence of the failure, there were no warning signs. Once the malfunction occurred, the check engine light illuminated. General Motors has issued Service Bulletin #25-NA-185 (revised December 4, 2025), which addresses engine coolant control valve failures on 3.0L Duramax vehicles and outlines the proper diagnostic and repair procedures for this exact failure mode. This bulletin applies to 2021–2026 3.0L Duramax trucks. Additionally, GM has implemented Special Coverage program N252508341 for 3.0L Duramax coolant control valve failures, which extends coverage up to 15 years or 150,000 miles when diagnostics confirm the failure condition. Despite the fact that my vehicle’s documented failure matches the exact conditions described in the above-referenced service bulletin and special coverage program, I was informed by Steele GMC that my specific VIN is not included in the warranty. Given the documented safety risk, the confirmed diagnosis, and the existence of official GM guidance addressing this precise issue, I respectfully request this be reviewed and appropriate coverage or corrective action be authorized
