Manufacturer Name: Honda (American Honda Motor Co.)

Vehicle Make: HONDA

Vehicle Model: PASSPORT

Model Year: 2025

Summary

2025 Honda Passport with 10k miles ***Braking issues - -Collision Mitigation System going off randomly and often, with no oncoming traffic, no obstacles or obstructions. -Phantom braking and “BRAKE” warning/steering wheel shake. Occurs often on windy, hilly roads with sharp curves, often to the right. Branches, guard rails, etc will activate the system at high speeds 50 mph and over, causing serious safety concerns of the vehicle stopping for no true cause. -White cars in oncoming traffic seemingly activate the “BRAKE” warning on occasion. -“BRAKE” warning went off and significantly slowed the car when a water filled pothole was to the right. -Issues have occurred with no cars ahead of the Passport. ***Engine issues after getting fuel - -After getting gas, check engine, power steering, and battery light will sometimes turn on. Only resolution is to restart the vehicle. -Brake pedal was also hard/stuck after getting gas, and vehicle could not be turned on until brake was pushed extremely hard/pumped. Power steering light came on after this incident. ***Lights- -Automatic adjusting high beams turn on and off erratically. Cannot use the automated system. ***Transmission- -Engine braking downhill on one or two occasions would not allow car to shift back up. Had to use paddle shifters to get the car moving again. Dealership cannot replicate these issues on a short ride with their tech, therefore the vehicle is “fine.”

Model Year: 2025

Summary

I was driving at night on a dark road My truck showed “ Brake assist failure. Press hard to brake. Speed limited.” I tried to step on the brakes & the truck didn’t stop. I was able to eventually turn the truck off & when I restarted it was fine. Luckily it wasn’t a busy street or that I didn’t have my 3 kids with me because it could’ve ended differently. I set an appointment at my dealership & when I went to start my truck again 1. It was dead and 2 when I jumped it, that same message popped up again & my truck was towed to the dealership on 2.25 & I haven’t heard back from the dealership since with an update.

Manufacturer Name: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

Vehicle Make: JEEP

Vehicle Model: WRANGLER

Model Year: 2024

Summary

1. COMPONENT FAILURE & TECHNICAL IMPAIRMENT: The vehicle is experiencing a total failure of its hybrid and internal combustion systems. On Jan 30, 2026, the vehicle received the "68C" battery software update. By Feb 6, the system failed, rendering Electric Mode Unavailable and triggering "Electric Mode unavailable" warnings. This is not a software glitch; it is a failure of the manufacturer's official remedy to conform the vehicle to warranty. Additionally, documented external oil pooling on the engine cover indicates internal pressure/seal failure directly related to the sand-contamination defect in Recall 78C. 2. HIGH SAFETY RISK: My safety is at extreme risk every time I operate this vehicle. • Recall 78C (Engine Fire/Failure): The manufacturer admits a 100% defect rate for my engine block (NHTSA 25V766). The defect involves abrasive sand circulating in the engine, which leads to "catastrophic engine failure" or fire. Stellantis has issued an advisory in multiple jurisdictions because this failure can happen without warning at highway speeds. • Recall 68C (Battery Fire): The high-voltage battery has an internal short-circuit risk. The fact that my EV system failed on Feb 6 proves the internal battery cells are unstable. Driving a vehicle with a known high-voltage fire risk and an unfixable engine defect creates an intolerable safety hazard for me and other motorists. 3. SUBSTANTIAL IMPAIRMENT OF VALUE AND USE: The vehicle’s value has been destroyed. I am paying for a high-performance hybrid that cannot use electricity and an engine that is self-destructing from the inside. Because the manufacturer has no remedy for 78C after 3+ months, the vehicle is fundamentally unrepairable. The safety directives (Park Outside/No Charging) and the physical mechanical failures constitute a total impairment of the vehicle I purchased.

Fail Date: 2026-02-25

Manufacturer Name: Tesla, Inc.

Vehicle Make: TESLA

Vehicle Model: MODEL 3

Model Year: 2018

Summary

The front lower lateral link (rearward lower control arm) fastener/bolt completely backed out and fell off the vehicle while in motion, causing the lateral link to separate entirely from the subframe. This is the exact mechanical failure described in Tesla Recall Campaign 23V-235 (Service Bulletin SB-23-31-001), however, my specific VIN was not included in that recall. The vehicle and components are currently at an independent EV repair facility and are available for inspection upon request. Photographic evidence of the missing bolt and separated control arm has been retained. The separation of the lower lateral link caused an immediate and violent collapse of the front passenger-side suspension geometry. The affected wheel was no longer anchored to the vehicle frame, causing it to fold backward and grind heavily against the wheel well. To keep the vehicle moving straight, the steering wheel had to be turned to an extreme 45-degree angle. This resulted in a near-total loss of steering control. Had this fastener failed while traveling at highway speeds instead of low speeds, it would have resulted in an uncontrollable, catastrophic collision. Yes. The problem was physically confirmed and documented by an independent, EV-certified repair facility (EVFixMe/Shocker Motors in Costa Mesa, CA) once the vehicle was placed on a lift. The vehicle was physically inspected by an independent service center. The manufacturer (Tesla) was contacted via the Tesla App; however, they refused to perform a physical diagnosis without pre-authorization of a $2,600+ comprehensive suspension replacement estimate and stated the vehicle was out of warranty with no open recalls. There were no dashboard warning lamps, digital alerts, or error messages from the vehicle's computer system prior to the failure. The failure presented suddenly as a loud, painful metal-on-metal grinding noise accompanied by immediate, severe steering misalignment. Currently waiting on invoice from indy shop.
