A head unit software update is available for 2022 – 2023 model year GR86 vehicles equipped with Toyota Multimedia software version 10 or earlier. Introduction
A head unit software update is available for 2022 – 2023 model year GR86 vehicles equipped with
Toyota Multimedia software version 10 or earlier. The software can be updated to version 11 with
a USB update. This software update addresses following items:
Display screen is blank (this does not affect the backup camera).
Head unit rebooting (this does not affect the backup camera).
Sirius XM® radio is inoperative.
Bluetooth® disconnects and does not reconnect automatically.

A head unit software update is now available for 2022 – 2025 model year GR86 vehicles equipped
with Toyota Multimedia software version 13 or earlier. The software can be updated to version 14
by OTA or USB update. This software update addresses following items:
No audio from any source at IG ON.
The head unit does not default to the last audio source at IG ON.
Sirius XM® audio does not play at IG ON and source cannot be changed.
Display screen graphics become distorted while scrolling through USB audio files (this does
not affect the backup camera display).
Phone book sorts contacts by last name instead of first name.
NOTE
In order to update to version 14 by OTA, the vehicle must have at least version 13.
Any version can be updated to version 14 by USB.
A head unit software update by OTA is also available for 2022 model year GR86 vehicles equipped
with Toyota Multimedia software version 9 or earlier. The software can be updated to version 10 by
OTA update. This software update addresses the following items:
Display screen is blank (does not affect the backup camera).
Head unit rebooting (does not affect the backup camera).
Sirius XM® radio is inoperative.
Bluetooth® disconnects and does not reconnect automatically.
