Summary
1) My 2023 Nissan Rogue experienced a catastrophic engine failure, and it is available for inspection. 2) The safety of myself and my grandchild was at risk when this happened while I was driving the vehicle. 3) We had the vehicle towed to the Nissan dealership where we purchased the vehicle. Within a very short period of time, we received a call from the dealership stating the head gaskets were blown and would require a complete engine replacement. 4) The vehicle has been inspected by a Nissan service department. My vehicle is a part of a recall for the1.5L VC-Turbo engine family. The service department said their protocol was to read the ECM, and if it did not indicate bearing failure, the recall did not apply. 5) Prior to engine failure, the vehicle began running rough. At no point did we receive any overheating warnings, temperature alerts, or coolant system notifications. This began happening about 3 days before the engine stopped working. I will attach below the correspondance between myself and the Nissan service department.

Summary
3 times in the last two days, and dozens of times over the last six months, while driving or while idling, the "check hybrid system" warning has flashed. When it happens the car does into limp mode, where it will go no faster than 13mph. this has happened in the left lane of a highway where there is no where to pull over except the lane, since there is no time to get over before the vehicle shuts down. the car essentially will shut down in the middle of driving, no matter where it is. Especially with my kids in the car it is terrifying hazard. I have brought the car to the Kia service and since its not easily reproducible they have not been able to help and have offered no solutions.

Vehicle Model: ESCAPE
Model Year: 2018
Summary
While driving 1,100 miles from Topeka, Kansas to Maryland to spend time with our first grandchild, our trip was interrupted by coolant intrusion in the cylinders of our 2018 Ford Escape SE (ecoboost), which had 78,600 miles on it. Both an independent garage and the Ford dealership in Maryland said the car needed a new engine. The garage put the cost at $16,000; the Ford dealer, $12,200. I quickly discovered online that the problem of coolant intrusion in Ford Escapes from that year was widespread and caused by a design flaw. After purchasing the vehicle used in 2020, I was never informed of any recalls or service announcements about this problem and after the problem was diagnosed, I was told by Ford that recalls had all expired by now. Instead of spending $12,200 for a new engine from an out-of-state dealership I had no knowledge of or past service history with, I decided to use the money I would have spent in repairs and instead use it toward purchasing a used car that hopefully had a better designed engine. I donated the Ford Escape to a charity to sell for parts. Both my wife and I are retired and essentially live on our Social Security, so purchasing a vehicle and losing the re-sale value of the Ford Escape is going to wipe out a lot of our savings. I believe Ford should compensate me for the private party re-sale value of the vehicle, roughly $9,000, plus the $2,000 I had to spend to rent a car while on our month-long visit in Maryland. Businesses should compensate customers for their business mistakes. I bought that car in 2020 and kept it serviced, and at no time did anyone from Ford or the dealership inform me of potential problems with the car that have since been reported. I have contacted Ford and they have told me there is nothing they can do about it. I hope the NHTSA can do something to make Ford stand by its product. Thank you.

Summary
I bought a pre-own car for my daughter in November 2022 from CARMAX in the City of Colma, California. The car is white color 2011 Toyota Rav4. In March 2025, my daughter started noticing the paint peeling off from the roof and driver side front panel. I found out that the paint issue is due to the defects from manufacturer when I visited paint shop to repair. I did researched online and found out Toyota had Customer Support Program until December 2022 for the issue. I contacted Toyota Corporate office but was told that CSP has ended and nothing they can do. Even though I am now aware that CSP has ended in December 2022, I found that it is unfair for the owner whose car just started exhibiting the issue after the program ended especially for the second owner like me who has never received any notice about the issue and bought the Toyota believing it will be a good investment. Can you please look into the issue and help for those owner like me who are unfairly left out? The attached picture shows the current condition of my car for your reference.

Vehicle Model: BOX TRAILER
Model Year: 2023
Summary
I am reporting a serious highway safety defect involving an enclosed cargo trailer used in normal commercial highway operation. The trailer was purchased on 7/27/2022. On 2/16/2023, while traveling approximately 65 mph on the New York State Thruway, the wheel and hub assembly detached from the axle during highway travel. The trailer lost a wheel at highway speed, creating an immediate risk of loss of control, crash, and roadway hazard to surrounding motorists. The axle required full replacement. The trailer was not returned to service until 8/4/2023. In addition to the axle failure, the trailer experienced repeated structural weld failures. Rear ramp door welds required repair on 1/7/2023 and again on 9/24/2023. On 7/16/2024, the trailer experienced catastrophic structural failure, including separation of the side wall from the floor and failure of structural welds. The trailer became unsafe for continued highway use. The manufacturer supplied a replacement trailer, which was ready on 1/31/2025 and picked up on 3/23/2025. The replacement trailer also developed early structural failures within months of normal use, including: Man door hinge failure (May 2025) Ramp door upper and lower weld failures (January 2026) Ramp spring assist weld failures (January 2026) Side wall upper and lower structural separation (February 2026) The repeated occurrence of similar structural failures across two separate trailers suggests a potential manufacturing or design defect rather than isolated damage or misuse. These failures compromise the structural integrity of the trailer body and cargo containment during highway travel and present a significant safety risk to the public, including risk of cargo release, structural collapse, or crash hazard. I am submitting this complaint so that this recurring structural and axle defect can be reviewed for investigation to prevent similar dangerous failures involving trailers of this type. #supplied-1st unit [XXX] -2nd unit INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIO

Summary
On Sunday, February 15th at approximately 9:00 AM EST, I took my vehicle to Wash Co Car Wash (1020 Dolsontown Road, Middletown, NY 10940). This was the first and only time I have taken this vehicle through a car wash since beginning my lease in July 2025. It is important to note that this specific car wash is one for which my local Acura dealership provides service coupons during routine maintenance visits. As a loyal Acura customer, this reasonably implied that the facility is appropriate and safe for Acura vehicles. While inside the automatic wash tunnel, the roof-mounted shark-fin antenna assembly detached completely. There were no prior issues, no visible damage, and no warning signs before entering the wash. The following day, February 16th, I brought the vehicle to my local Acura dealership for inspection. After diagnostics, I was presented with an estimated $1,700 repair cost. This incident is particularly concerning because it is not the first issue I have experienced with this vehicle. Since beginning my lease in July, I have brought this ZDX to the dealership for service on three separate occasions to address different concerns. For a vehicle that is less than a year into its lease term, this pattern of service visits raises legitimate concerns about quality, durability, and reliability. Given the severity of the cost and the nature of the failure, I contacted Acura Client Relations in an effort to resolve the matter directly and professionally. After more than 48 hours, I was assigned a case manager named Lisette, who declined to provide her last name when asked. During our conversation, I found her demeanor dismissive and unwilling to meaningfully investigate the concern. The resolution I was given was that there is “no defect” and that the failure was effectively my fault.
