Manufacturer Name: Hyundai Motor America

Vehicle Make: HYUNDAI

Vehicle Model: IONIQ 5

Model Year: 2023

Summary

The vehicle lost its ability to charge via AC power sources (level 1 and level 2), and the "Check vehicle electrical system" warning appeared on the dash. When using an OBD scanner, DTC P1E01 was present. It was inspected by a dealer, who informed me that the ICCU is in need of replacement, despite this component having been already addressed by a previous recall. Unfortunately the replacement component is backordered and there is no ETA available on the fix. For the time being I am limited to level 3 DC fast charging, which is a major inconvenience but does not represent a safety risk to myself or others.

Summary

Right around mid-December 2025, I parked my car, and went to bed, just to wake up on a notification that my battery was depleted and I should go to a service center. I went to the nearest BMW dealership, and had them check out the issue. They said it was caused by 2 incidents where I the car's engine was off with key on for 9 minutes and 10 minutes respectively. and therefore it is my fault and the battery is damaged. So, they had to replace it, and they charged me $1,100 for it. I still don't see how that's my fault, because when I put the car in parking and not exit, the engine turns itself off anyways, but entertainment stays on.

Summary

I was stopped at Starbucks in a small business area. I needed to make a sharp left turn to get out of there to get back on the highway, I would typically go very slow as to not hit any parked cars etc. As soon as I went forward the car took off so fast I put both feet on the brakes. The car usually sets alarms off for everything! I looked for somewhere I could go to each side so as not to go on the highway. There was nowhere. I was going so fast at this point I was afraid to turn. I went straight across and hit an oncoming car. I then hit a cement planted area for bushes in the parking lot. It was about 6" high. My car hit two sides of the planter. That is the point it stopped. Still no warning lights or alarms! The Insurance reported the car is totaled.
