Manufacturer Name: General Motors, LLC

Vehicle Make: GMC

Vehicle Model: YUKON XL

Model Year: 2022

Summary

Engine failure occurred while transferring passengers in a busy road. The vehicle started making noises at first I thought it was a belt that might have been going bad. I looked at all the gages which did not indicate any issues with the battery or oil pressure or any vital issues that might show and merged to the right lane. Less than 2 miles down the road engine shut off and I was able to coast into a parking lot. I took this vehicle as requested for the recall and the only recommendation was to start using OS 0W40 and a new oil cap indicating the required oil type. These vehicles should be pulled off the roads, they create a huge safety hazard on our roads and sooner or later someone is going to get killed.

Manufacturer Name: Kia America, Inc.

Vehicle Make: KIA

Vehicle Model: SELTOS

Model Year: 2021

Summary

My Seltos had a recall in 2021 (recall number SC209) because the piston oil rings were not property heated which can result in engine damage. The problem was supposedly repaired in 2021, yet in 2026 at 50,000 miles I am having piston notice problems and the engine light is constantly lit. The car has stalled on several occasions. I am being told that my vehicle with only 50,000 miles needs a brand new engine block and transmission. The recall was a safety recall to prevent the engine from stalling, risk of a crash and increased risk of fire. Although the issues with my vehicle are clearly as a result of the piston issue which were supposed to have been fixed they obviously were not and I am now experiencing all issues of the recall and bad engine. Kia of Round Rock is refusing to make this repair correctly and are asking me to pay for the new engine and transmission because they say it is out of warranty. That being said, had the recall problem been correctly resolved in 2021 I would not be having these same problems will fall directly in line with the issues resulting in the recall.

Manufacturer Name: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

Vehicle Make: JEEP

Vehicle Model: CHEROKEE

Model Year: 2018

Summary

1. The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and transfer case have failed. The vehicle was initially suspected to have a wheel bearing issue due to a howling noise during the test drive. However, after purchase, the noise worsened significantly. An independent repair shop diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed that the transfer case and bearings are defective and unsafe. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection upon request. 2. I was informed by a certified mechanic that the vehicle is unsafe to drive and poses a significant risk of crash due to transfer case failure. Failure of the transfer case and PTU can result in sudden loss of power, drivetrain lockup, or loss of vehicle control while driving. This placed my safety, my child’s safety, and others on the road at serious risk. I was specifically instructed not to drive the vehicle due to the hazard. 3.Yes. The problem was confirmed by both an independent repair shop and the selling dealership. The dealership acknowledged there is an active recall related to the PTU/transfer case and ordered a replacement transfer case. However, they stated the part is on national backorder with no current estimated availability due to the recall. 4. The vehicle has been inspected and diagnosed by an independent repair facility and is currently at the dealership where it was purchased for further inspection and recall-related repair. The dealership has acknowledged the recall and the need for transfer case replacement. 5.Yes. The primary symptom was a loud howling or whining noise coming from the drivetrain area, which began before purchase and was reported to the dealer during the test drive. The dealer initially stated it was a wheel bearing issue. After purchase, the noise progressively worsened over several weeks, leading to the diagnosis of transfer case failure. No warning lights appeared, but the audible noise was severe and consistent.

Summary

My concern is the holding tank fell down . It’s brand new never water in it . And I was 500 miles from home when I noticed it . This could have caused a wreck for me or others had it fallen all the way out . At highway speeds. The dealer told me they the manufacturer told them to strap it in . I think this repair may work but I feel I need to get a second opinion. The framework and the trailer frame is very flimsy where the tank sits in is the issue of it falling out and in my opinion they need to recall these and let others know this can happen before it does happen and hurts someone. Most people would not look like I did . And if the tank is full of water and you hit a bump it would fall out without further bracing. There seems to be a firewall between me and the manufacturer to get answers , hopefully no body gets hurt .
