Summary

Steering gear assembly malfunction. Internal rack & pinion failure is present. Rack is binding/seized. When making a turn on the vehicle, the steering wheel does not return to center, creating a highly dangerous situation where if the steering wheel is not manually returned to center it can cause a motor vehicle accident. In other words, once a turn is initiated the car will remain in a turned state unless the steering wheel is wrestled with to return to traveling in a straight line. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representative, or others outside of an independent service center. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior the failure. The failure appeared starting at about 25,000 miles and gradually became worse to just under 40,000 miles which is the mileage on the car now.

Summary

I have not had any issues with my 2017 Jeep Trailhawk that I have owned for 6 years. A couple of days ago I was exiting off the highway and felt a loud thump and lost all power, luckily I wasn't hit and was able to maneuver over around traffic to the shoulder. No warning lights have came on. Jeep will not drive, and cannot put in park. I had to have it towed home. I cannot find a dealership to help as they have told me there is a recall on the PTU units that were never fixed and they don't know when they could get me a transmission. I have looked up my VIN and mine is not showing a recall, but I am having the same issue with that the 2017-2019 jeep recalls are having. Is there anything I can get done?

Summary

Car kept misfiring and it sounded like water was running when the car was on. After multiple attempts to find a solution I took it to a Ford dealership to remedy the issue and it ended up needing a full engine replacement due to coolant leaking into the engine. The engine failed, they told me there was no way to prevent it because the seals were not fully sealing. Thankfully it did not cause for me but could have caused sudden loss of power, stalled acceleration on highways, failure of power steering and braking systems. The dealership acknowledged that it was an ongoing issue when they serviced it. Unknown. Not that I ever noticed however someone with more car knowledge MAY have been able to see warning signs.

Manufacturer Name: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)

Vehicle Make: DODGE

Vehicle Model: DART

Model Year: 2015

Summary

(FIX INFO BELOW) The Issue: The ignition intermittently fails to rotate to the "OFF" position, locking the key fob in the column despite the vehicle being in "Park." This is a known flaw in the Dart’s sensitive electrical/shifter interface that can lead to total battery drain and theft risk. <>Quick Fixes to Release the Fob<> I. The "Re-Park" Movement: Simply shifting gears is often not enough. Restart the engine, physically reverse the vehicle a short distance, then drive forward back into your space before shifting into park. The physical movement of the car is often required to reset the transmission sensor. II. The Twist: When you first park, try a quick, sharp twist to the "OFF" position immediately. Catching the system quickly sometimes prevents it from locking the fob. III. The Inward Firm Method: If already stuck, push the fob firmly inward toward the steering column (as if you are inserting your fob) while simultaneously twisting hard to the left. Repeat a few times before doing the re-park method to see if this will work for you first. Run/Acc>Off (be firm but if it doesn't work you're not trying to force/break it). <>Emergency Security<> If the tricks above do not work and you must leave your vehicle, you can still lock it and get back in. Make sure you apply your handbrake first just incase. - Physical Key Extraction: Locate the small release slide on the back of your key fob. You can slide the metal emergency key out even while the fob is stuck in the ignition. - Manual Locking: Use the door button, physical door locks or this metal key/a backup spare to manually lock the door/driver’s door from the in/outside. This prevents vehicle theft while the fob remains trapped. !!! Safety Conclusion!!! This issue highlights the volatile nature of the Dodge Dart's electrical system. While these workarounds are effective, the underlying sensor or shifter cable failure poses a recurring safety risk to owners.

Summary

While driving, the car came to a sudden stop in the middle of the road, making a loud screeching sound. The sound persisted when the vehicle was made to drive. Checking underneath, I noticed a large bolt fell off. Along with the noise, the suspension also felt very stiff while driving forward. In any case, the car coming to a halt all of a sudden in the middle of the road is a life threatening experience and needs to be looked at.

Vehicle Model: BRONCO SPORT

Model Year: 2021

Summary

On 2/19/26 the Vehicle would not go in reverse. This is the second time the vehicle has failed to reverse. The vehicle was towed and fixed by don chalmers ford the first time this happened. Now they stated the vehicle was one day past warranty and would not tow/fix issue. I dropped the vehicle at dc ford on Friday 2/20. Today they called and said they think it is the same issue that was fixed with the transmission and would charge 6-8 thousand to fix it. More if we wanted a new transmission. I have read several reports from other consumers that the ford 2021 bronco sport has transmission issues. This vehicle has also had several recalls that I have had fixed by ford. All maintenance has been performed by ford as well. This is an unsafe vehicle and ford has failed to insure its costumers are safe and treated fairly.

Summary

While driving into town, the dashboard illuminated with every warning light before the vehicle suffered a total electronic and engine shutdown. This happened twice—the second time while I was mid-turn in an intersection. Several vehicles had to slam on their brakes to avoid a high-speed collision with my stalled truck. I had to get the vehicle towed as it is fundamentally unsafe to operate.
