Summary
DEFECT: Steering wheel fails to fully return to center after turns, consistently stopping 1/2-1 inch off-center. Minor steering adjustments stick and don't self-correct. Pronounced binding zone near center prevents smooth return. SYMPTOMS: After curves, wheel returns 80% but stops visibly off-center requiring manual correction. Minor lane adjustments stick and require counter-correction. Constant manual steering correction causes driver fatigue. Progressive worsening since purchase. SAFETY: Incomplete return at highway speeds causes drift. Sticking divides attention from hazards. Emergency maneuvers require manual straightening during critical response time. SERVICE: February 2026 - McGovern Toyota technician documented "VEHICLE DID NOT RETURN OR SELF CENTER" but Toyota corporate refused repair claiming "normal characteristic." Had 6+ alignments with no improvement. Recent alignment caused binding to flip sides, proving internal mechanical binding not alignment issue. RELATED: Toyota issued CSP 22TE02/TSB T-SB-0028-22 (2022) for 2018 Camry with identical "reduced return to center" caused by intermediate shaft binding. My 2024 Corolla has same defect Toyota acknowledged in 2018 models but refuses to repair. INDUSTRY PATTERN: Honda HR-V TSB 24-094 (2024), Mazda CX-90 Recall 24V-022 (26+ failed fix complaints, 2 crashes), GM Bolt TSB 17-NA-148, Ford Explorer ST owner reports - all for steering not returning to center. REQUEST: Investigate if Toyota intermediate shaft defect extends to 2024 Corolla and whether industry-wide EPS binding represents systemic safety issue. Toyota confirmed defect in writing but denies repair.

Summary
Other than the Emergency brake system coming on suddenly a couple times (seat belt has hurt me, but not medically documented), there have been no other issues with this car. In the November of 2025, it overheated in gridlock traffic in Boston, MA, which had me freaking out. The engine coolant was low, so I had to find a spot to pull over and let the steam out. I drove it safely home and refilled the tank. It was checked out by my local mechanic and he said it looked fine. Towards the end of January, the car overheated again, so I immediately went to the auto store to buy prediluted coolant to fill the tank (which was now full). Last week (February 2026), I was driving home on the highway and all the emergency lights came on and the car stopped accelerating. I was able to get the car home, but moved my Pump module recall appointment up to the following day. Honda North in Danvers, MA (where we purchased the car) investigated and found a cracked cylinder, Head Gasket needing replacement, turbo chargers needing replacement, and the fuel injector needing replacement. The report also says the engine coolant tank was empty, but I only filled it a couple weeks ago. The mechanic said I could drive it home on the back roads, but it is no longer safe to drive, as there are severe safety risks (The car passed every other inspection). The sales team expected me to make a deal that day, because I could not drive home. My car's mileage is just over 127,000 miles, and they are only offering $6000 or $8000 with trade in. I have learned there are lawsuits over the 1.5V turbo engine and am surprised Honda is not recalling the engine due to safety risk. My family has had 5 hondas in the past decade and up until this point, believed they were safe, reliable cars. I am really dissappointed by this, especially because the cost to repair is over $11,000. I also want to note that someone on reddit coincidentally had the same issue within the same hour as myself.

My car has been making high pitched whining sound from front end for the last 20,000 miles. I am currently at 101,500 mi and have been advised it is the transmission. I have done some research on the 2018 Toyota CHR's and found that Canada has extended the warranty of the CVT transmission to 193,000 miles [XXX] ). When I reached out to Toyota USA they acted as if they were unaware and could not assist now that my warranty has expired. Toyota's are known for their reliability and good quality. Now I am left with a car that isn't even paid off yet and relatively low on miles especially considering the issue started at about 90,000 miles. I want to bring this to your attention in hopes that if other countries recognize this as an issue and have made it right maybe something can be done here to rectify the situation. I also located class a class action lawsuit that has begun for Toyota on this issue [XXX] ). I am a single mother and can't afford to replace a transmission. Please help! The front piece of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered while sitting in my parked vehicle. I heard a loud pop and saw that the entire piece of glass was totally shattered. I took it to the dealership and they told me it is a known problem with this type of sunroof on their vehicles, they said it is not covered by warranty. The estimated repair cost was over $800. Had I been driving down the road with the sunroof open, it could have presented serious safety risks.

While driving the car we heard a loud pop in the cabin. That was followed by electrical warning lights on the dash. WE were only about a mile from home and did make it back safely at greatly reduced speed. The ICCU was confirmed to have failed by the dealership. The part was replaced. If we had been traveling on the highway it might have been difficult to find a safe place to exit the roadway.

Summary
While driving the vehicle, an error message (Engine Control Error) will pop up. The car will come to an immediate stop…forcing the driver to shut off car and restart it. This has happened multiple times and in one instance occurred on the highway. It almost caused a catastrophic accident as the car came to an abrupt stop in the middle lane of the highway. I’ve taken the car to the dealership multiple times and they have not been able to fix it. I’ve read many Taycan message board posts and it seems like this is a common issue amongst multiple years of Taycans. This is a serious safety issue and a recall should be issued with a remedy for this. Due to this, I cannot drive the car on the highway as I’m scared of it happening randomly. This is a known issue and one that should be recalled and handled appropriately by Porsche.

Summary
I was driving on the highway, and there was an abrupt loss of drive and failure of the car. The transmission failed suddenly when I was traveling at highway speed, and there was no prior warning. This nearly caused an accident with the cars behind me, but I managed to get off the road into the shoulder. This is a safety concern, since there were no prior signs at all of this happening. The transmission failure was immediate. I purchased the car new, and I'm the only owner. I kept up well with maintenance, even doing the oil changes prior to the oil light coming on. I spoke to several Ford dealers, including the Ford dealer I purchased my car in 2018. He admitted that the transmission in this make and model needs often replacement. The miles on my car is approximately 116,000.
