Summary
Description of Incident: The car was sold with a passenger-front Dunlop tire that suffered a critical structural failure where the tread rubber completely wore away, leaving the internal metal cords and plies exposed (visual evidence attached). I was unknowingly operating the vehicle in this hazardous condition for 136 miles of highway and local driving until the defect was fully identified on February 14th. Component Availability: The tire was removed from the vehicle on February 14th by an independent service center during the emergency purchase of four new tires. While the physical tire was left for disposal at the service center, high-resolution photographs of the failure are available and attached to this report for inspection. Safety Risk: The vehicle was sold in an unsafe and illegal condition (IL Vehicle Code 625 ILCS 5/12-405). The exposed structural metal plies created an imminent risk of a high-speed blowout or catastrophic tread separation, endangering both the occupants of my vehicle and other motorists. Confirmation/Inspection: The problem was confirmed by a certified technician at an independent service center on February 14th, who identified the tire as unfit for service. The selling dealer (Jidd Motors) was notified of a defect on February 6th but refused to replace the tire. This incident has also been reported to the Illinois Attorney General and the Illinois Secretary of State Police (Dealer Operations). Warning Symptoms: There were no warning lamps, TPMS messages, or symptoms prior to the physical discovery of the exposed metal. The tire maintained air pressure despite the severe structural compromise.

Summary
A 2026 Toyota Prius was delivered to me on or about February 5, 2026 while subject to an active federal safety recall involving a rear door electrical switch defect. The recall indicates that water intrusion into the rear door switch can cause an electrical short circuit which may allow a rear door to open while the vehicle is in motion. At the time of delivery, there was no remedy available for this recall. The recall had been announced on January 28, 2026 and was active in both the manufacturer’s system and NHTSA recall lookup at the time the vehicle was leased. Despite the active recall and lack of remedy, the vehicle was delivered for use. The safety risk is that a rear door could open unexpectedly while driving, potentially creating risk of passenger ejection or injury to other motorists. No failure has yet occurred, but the vehicle was delivered under active recall without repair. This complaint concerns delivery of a new vehicle while subject to an unrepaired federal safety recall.

Summary
On January 9th my wife got into an accident in our 2022 Tesla Model Y vehicle. She reported that as she was backing out of a prking spot in a strip mall, the vrhicle suddenly accelerated backward involuntarely which resulted in colliding with a vehicle which was approaching from the rear side. My wife reported the speed was so violent that she felt dizziness. When she took the car bto the Tesla shop for repair by the insurance, the Tesla repair people discounted her reporting and did not do any follow-up to investigate the issue. Note the onboard camera recorded the swift movement of the vehicle and I will try to upload it. We have read that such problem was looked into by the NTHSA in the past and that it is being revisited again. Note that that Tesla has determined the vehicle as being totalled and has kept it at their shop. Please let us know your thoughts on this matter so if this is a serious problem that it can be addressed so it won't happen to others. My wif was lucky she didn't get hurt and also she didn''t heart others. Please note I am currently traveling out of the country and will be be back in the US on March 12, 2026. You can contact me via my email or I will be available for phone conversation on the indicated date. Also please note I could not upload the recording of the on board camera because of the format incompatibility. THe phone number included is my wife's and please feel free to contact her.

Summary
This was a recall earlier, twice, and it was supposedly fixed but the fuel vacuum line to the gas tank is leaking and giving off gasoline odors in the passenger area. Also another recall that was supposedly taken care of is an oil leak that is occuring often. The oil was changed only a month ago and already the oil has just about all leaked out. Both of these issues are fire hazards and the fuel leakage can can the operator or passengers to succomb to carbon minoxide. These were told to us by a Ford dealer who put the car on a diagnostic but they are saying that the recall is over and it will cost $1,400. for the fix. I bought this car, in June 2025 ;from a used car dealer. I am still paying on it. I never receive a car history of any kind from this dealer. . I had no idea that there were 18 recalls on this vehicle. That is really a lot. If either of these problems were fixed on a recall, could they re-occur again. On this particular fuel re-call, I read that it had to be done again because the first recall fix was not done well. I do not have $1,400. to fix this. I am an [XXX] senior woman and am buying this car for my daughter. It seems to me that one a recall is made that it is a permanent thing until there is an assurance that it is fixed and won't happen again. It also seems to me that a vehicle that has that many recalls should not be allowed to be sold to the public. Can I hold the dealer who sold it to me accountable for not letting me know about the recalls or not letting me know the history of the vehicle?
