Summary
My car exhibited a random loss of power which led to dangerous driving conditions. At times, when I wanted to accelerate to pass a vehicle on a two lane highway, I would enter the left lane to pass a vehicle and had zero acceleration which left me in a vulnerable position relative to oncoming traffic. Other times, the vehicle would not accelerate from a stop, rev to high RPMs and not shift out of 3rd gear without manual intervention. Another time, I was accelerating to make a lane change and the vehicle lagged, nearly causing a rear end collision by the vehicle behind me. There were no warning indications whatsoever on the dash, but I my OBD-II code reader indicated "P26CB00". When I researched this, I took my car into the dealer. The were able to replicate the problem and informed me that my vehicle had a punctured intercooler radiator which was caused by a road hazard and therefore would not be covered under warranty. After my inspection, I noticed a design flaw in the lower portion of the grill which allowed objects to impact the lower radiator without any protection whatsoever. Apparently, this leak caused my car's turbo system to not engage which is why there was a random loss of power. The repair of the radiator and water pump (which they said had failed because it ran dry) was over $2500. The dealer told me that they had had another Genesis GV70 with the same issue the prior week but that all cars have some unresolved problem or another. Based on my experience, this was a serious safety issue and so I also reached out to Genesis Corporate on 2/12/26 and they assigned it case #42240745. I have not heard back from them as of yet. The contact owns a 2009 Lexus RX 350. The contact stated that the dashboard was cracked. The crack initially developed on the passenger’s side near the air bag enclosure and progressively spread across the dashboard toward the driver’s side. The surface of the dashboard was also sticky. The ignition switch was sticky, leaving a residue on the contact's fingers. The contact associated the failure with Technical Service Bulletin: L-SB-0011-15; and the related Warranty Enhancement Program. The local dealer was contacted and advised the contact that there was no recall coverage available. The contact called another local dealer Westminster Lexus (13590 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA 92683); and was informed that the repairs would be at the expense of the vehicle owner. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

See attached document for complaint. This letter is to fo rmally notify you of my vehicle's fai lure to conform to the express warranties under the Ill inois Lemon Law, and to demand compensation. The vehicle had a significant defect that was not, and r bel ieve could never have been, corrected after a reasonable number of attempts. As of the date of this letter, there is still no remedy available for thjs dangerous defect and dealerships cannot and still will not attempt to repair due to this failure on your company. Furthermore, this dangerous recall has been in effect without a remedy for more than 30 business days. The following is a summary of the problem and the repair attempts: • Description of Defect: The charger in the vehicle did not fi rst work in August 2025. The dealership where we purchased the vehicle referenced above, was able to temporarily repair this issue. We were without the car for approximately one week. ln mid-October 2025, we were alerted for a software recall regarding the vehicle which was handled at the same dealership. In late October 2025 we were alerted to another recall alert regarding the vehicle (NHTSA #25V74 J, Chrysler #68C). This recall had no remedy and sti ll does not have a remedy as of the date of this letter and at the time we were left not choice but to " fire sale" the vehicle back to the dealership. Please note due to no fix being available, any attempts to repair wer,e futile and the dealership would not take any appointments when we contacted them several times. Further, the recall advisory stated the following "A vehicle fi re can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from recharging. Out of abundance of caution, FCA US is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until a remedy is obtained." Two months after purchasing my used Chevy 2022 Malibu my engine light came on and also a notification stating Engine Power Reduced and the car was not performing well.
